    Very true Coach!!! Im heading into my 60s next month and I have some joint pain in my hands. I would say arthritis is knocking on the door. I want to keep that in check. I will have a look at blueberries. Ive heard too the latest in weight loss theory is no carbs, no sugar. I'll be taking that route as well. Is dairy inflammatory? I heard it was many years ago. Things can change. Wishing you a happy pride for last month!!!

    • @Codytalks11
      @Codytalks11 21 день тому

      Definitely no need to cut out carbs. Sugar can be inflammatory but it’s okay to have carbs from healthy sources like fruits and veggies 😁 Dairy can be inflammatory if you have an intolerance which most of us tend to have more issues with dairy as we age.

    Happy 4th, stay safe! Sending you cool air from northern Minnesota :) My boyfriend has 160 acres of land, and we have a natural blueberry patch out there, we usually get around 5-10 gallons of "original" blueberries from the field, they're so much tastier than from the store! The local farmer's market here has some of the good ones too, as well as so many other good things like help with food stamps costs and such. They'll give $3 coupons for every $1 food stamp dollar to make it stretch further so the better food is more affordable.

    • @Him_He_Me

      @@Codytalks11 Beyond delicious, the ones in the store don't taste the same any more! We also have a wild strawberry patch, they're so hard to get though between the bunnies and squirrels. In the late summer then it's the raspberries 🤤 All "original"? They've never been planted, just naturally have been there since the undeveloped land was bought back in the 1800's!

    Rybelsus is the oral semaglutide option, but it has to be taken everyday. The injections that are popular are usually once a week. Inventory for the injections is still an issue. It feels like every doctor is trying to get every overweight patient on an injection. I don't know if they are getting any kickbacks, but we can't keep any of the injections in stock. The manufacturers can't keep up with the demand (or choose not to), so it keeps going on backorder for a period of time. This isn't a medicine you're supposed to stop cold turkey, especially if you're type 2 diabetic, but it happens to people when none of the local pharmacies can get it. ADHD meds also have higher demand than supply available. Most of my days of filled with fielding phone calls from people looking for one of these two types of medicines. It's annoying to answer the same question over and over, but I also feel bad that so many people can't get ahold of medicine that helps them.

    I looked up Ozempic face yikes! I'm overweight, afab with PCOS, so have trouble losing weight anyways. I've been watching you for quite some time, and have made modifications to my diet that worked really well (more proteins, healthy fats and veggies, less junk foods; nothing drastic). I got sick over the last Christmas season (possible long covid) and have gained some weight back due to eating on the go/lack of energy. I've been offered these medications, but I personally turned it down, I want to make sure I do things the healthiest way I can. Thank you Cody! (aka "the bulldog" NOM NOM NOM lol) Edit: would these types of medications be banned/controlled for things like the physique challenges you've been training for? Just curious.

      I am glad you found some modifications that worked well for you! Makes sense to try all the foundational things first! Great question about these being used for physique competitions! So I don't think there is any way they could actually test for these so they are probably still able to be used. I have heard of some women using them but I haven't come across a lot of men who has used it for shows yet.
